PRECISION
MACHINING FOR R&D, PROTOTYPING, MODEL MAKING
AND LIGHT ENGINEERING.
As well as being able to produce full 3D CAD
models we are also able to offer a machining service to suit your requirements.
Should your need be for a one off prototype or a small production run we can
provide Milling, Turning, and light fabrication services. As a time served
Toolmaker with experience in both conventional and CNC machining, producing
your components will be undertaken with precision in mind should the job
require it.
3D
Using 3D milling
software cutter paths can be created to produce complex shapes and surfaces
otherwise difficult or impossible to produce using conventional machining
techniques. Below is an example of how combining 3D CAD data files 3D machining
software and a CNC machining centre can produce a mould cavity suitable for use
in our injection moulding machine.

Here the 3D model
has been created in the CAD system.
This model is then
used to produce a mould cavity that can

Machined
Component
This picture shows the finished (and well
used) mould cavities. Both halves are made in Aluminium tooling plate with no
heat treatment. Two of the mouldings are shown; these are moulded in High
Impact Styrene and measure 48 mm long,
30mm wide and 15mm
high well over 200 shots have been made using this tooling.
Conventional
Machining
Our
workshop is equipped with conventional machines including a Milling machine,
Lathe, Drill, Oxy Acetylene welding, MIG welding, Arc Welding, bandsaw,
circular saw, and various hand tools enabling us to produce components in a
variety of materials from metals to plastics to wood.
Please
ask we will be only too pleased to answer your questions.
